Hammarö is the archipelago municipality with a forward-looking spirit. We are an attractive residential area with strong growth, and many choose to move here. We are one of Sweden’s top school municipalities, and satisfaction is high across our services. Most of the services residents need are found in Skoghall’s town center, and if you're looking for a touch of city life, Karlstad’s city center is just a few kilometers away.

Stora Enso is the largest company in the municipality, while the largest employer is Hammarö Municipality itself, with around 1,500 employees. Many enjoy working in this small municipality, where decisions, colleagues, and expertise are all close at hand.

We are also part of the Karlstad Region collaboration, together with Karlstad, Forshaga, Kil, and Grums, working to promote growth throughout the region.
